The First

Opened in October 2012, Kierland FlowRider is the first boardsport simulator in the Arizona resort market. Bringing the California beach lifestyle to the Sonoran desert of Scottsdale, this wave technology by Wave Loch attracts youth, families and boardsport enthusiasts of all ages. Kierland FlowRider is a welcomed addition to the Resort’s award-winning FUN Program, and is managed by Kierland Resort’s very own -Wave Master – Steve Richardson who was selected through a unique job search process where the candidates submitted a video along with their application and finalists competed in a surf-off for the dream job.

FlowBoarding

Flowboarding is not just a ride, it is a sport, a 21st Century alchemy that has the look of surfing, the ride of snowboarding, the tricks of skateboarding, and boards derived from wakeboarding. Thrilling to do, thrilling to watch, and designed to handle wipeouts. The FlowRider’s waveform is a proprietary composite membrane ride surface that is designed to absorb the energy of impacts. Flowboarders may wipe out, but they’ll get back up again and again and again. Boardsports such as surfing, snowboarding, and skateboarding are skill-based activities that challenge riders to develop new tricks to emulate their heroes. The best part about Kierland FlowRider is that no skill is required to flowboard for the very first time, thus making this latest boardsport appreciated by all ages.

  • Mr. Angelone, It is with much gratitude that I author this letter. As we complete the renovation of all guestrooms and corridors, I wanted to take a minute to offer my sincere appreciation to Angelone Builders for a job well done. As you clearly understand, completing this type of work in an operating Resort brings many challenges by way of keeping all concerned happy. The expectation guests, owners and operators often times puts contractors under the spot light as these stakeholders want a fresh product but, also ask that you do it without displacing revenue of guests’ interruption. Not only did you and your team accomplish this task, but on two occasions, you turned over rooms back to the Resort earlier than expected which allowed us to take unanticipated short term reservations for busy weekends. Your hustle to accomplish this resulted in an additional $80,000 in revenue that would have otherwise gone to our competitors! Moving forward, Angelone Builders is at the top of my bid list and I look forward to executing many more projects in the future.
